Fingerstyles or Fingerpicking is a kind of technique which contains of variaty of guitar's techniques. It play like classical due to it's plucking, it's like bass as slapping, running bass, alternate bass....is apllied here, it strums like you're playing folk guitar & so on. You're allow to do anything which you can think of on your guitar which no limitation. More freedom to play, use you thumb to hold bass strings, hold chords or notes upside down, altenate tuning that you can think of. Tommy Emmanuel (www.tommyemmanuel.com) is one of the great example that you can refer to. Besides, you can check www.michaelchapdelaine.com & murielanderson.com as both of them are classical trained but not playing fingerstyle heavily. Please feel free to ask more questions. |
