In the world of the classical guitar, it is rare for a Chinese player to launch an international career but Yang Xue Fei has been a pioneering spirit since the age of seven. From winning second prize in the Beijing Senior Guitar Competition when 11 years old, Yang has given recitals at festivals in the UK, Germany, Finland, France and Singapore and performed 54 concerts for the Night of the Proms Tour, appearing in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. She is the winner of many prizes in major competitions, including second prizes in the Stotsenberg International Guitar Competition and San Francisco International Guitar Competition, and first prize in the Ivor Mairants Award in London.
