Guitar Duo
Remco
de Haan and Erik Westerhof formed the Groningen Guitar Duo in 1980
during their training at the Groningen Conservatory. In the Netherlands
the duo has performed inter alia in the Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw
and the Vredenburg Music Centre in Utrecht. In 1988 the duo won
the first prize at the International Guitar competition for guitar
duos in Montelimar France. In the same year the duo was invited
to give the first public performance of Ton de Leeuw`s concerto
for two guitars and orchestra, together with the French radio symphony
orchestra led by Leo Brouwer. Since then the Groningen duo has given
concerts in the majority of countries in Europe, North and South
America and the Middle East, and produced six CDs.
